Draper Temple Trip

January 24th found the family car pooling to go on a tour of the Draper Temple. Char had the ADA parking permit so we got to park right next to the temple. Good thing since we had two folks who took advantage of these "special" accommondations. Erin's back was too painful to walk so she and Charlie shared a wheelchair.

The Temple is beautiful. I love the decorations and the color scheme. It is small but the same wonderful feeling is there as in all temples. I loved being there with all my grandchildren (except for two babies) - teaching them about the importance of temples.

After you leave the temple, you walk through a covered walkway to the ward house across the parking lot. The room was full of beautiful displays teaching visitors about the purpose of temples. The cool map showing the locations of all the temples around the world was my favorite. There are tons of them - 127 right now! The missionaries were there and lots of volunteers who served cookies and little water bottles. We took these cool pictures in front of a picture of Christ.

John, Susan, Amanda, Matt, and Anni

Erin, Aubrey, and Alison
Britton, Charlie, Angel and Rob

It was cold and foggy so we hurried to the car. We did wait awhile until Rob found his lost phone. Ask him about the honest folks who visit the temple.

Dinner at Applebees ended the evening. With many people from the temple wanting to eat, we had to wait a long time for a table and even longer to get food. Good thing the company was fun!

Charlie enjoyed a little (drug induced) nap during dinner.

Thanks all for making another memorable evening for this mama.
Love you all.
Thanks girls for helping me get this post done. Thanks, Jare, for the internet connection. I'm so blessed to be the mom of wonderful people!

Let's call it a BLOWOUT!

Yesterday was the BEST DAY EVER!
We left Davis County about 9:30 a.m. and arrived at the Marriott Center Parking Lot in about an hour to join other Cougar fans in anticipation of the upcoming game.
We ate, played bean bag toss and spent time with Cougar Board folks. "Wear white on Sunday, Blue on Game Day" shirts were distributed to hundreds of fans. We proudly wore ours to the game. I think I'll wear this shirt at every game - my good luck t-shirt!

Brit and Ryan had fun throwing bean bags but Rob and Matt got fairly competitive with those folks who were brave enough to challenge them.

I guess you have to eat on your tail gate (or facsimile) to call it a "Tail Gate Party."

After Britton had his 2nd quarter nap, he was ready to smile for grandma - not.

PROOF: BYU - 59 / UCLA - 0
Max Hall threw 7 touchdowns to 4 different players. Offensive and Defensive teams played to near perfection. No stupid mistakes - perfect passes, catches, tackles, running plays all while pressuring UCLA to make fortuitious mistakes which allowed us to quickly score.
None of us were in a hurry to leave Lavell Edwards stadium.

We were enjoying basking in the glow of victory!

My boys enthusiastically replaying touchdowns, scores and amazing plays.

Unfortunately, we sit 9 rows apart so don't get to communicate during the game.

Cute Aubrey and Alison sit far away from us with Daniel. They had a great time too. Aubrey sent me a text during the game that said; "THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER!" Truer words were never (almost) spoken.

We were starving since we used so many calories yelling, jumping, high-fiving and singing the Cougar Fight Song so many times! We've never stopped for a meal after a game before but today was worth celebrating.

What a terrific day. I really can't remember when I've had so much fun. Spending time with my kids is always great but a day with my sons, grandsons and 65,000 Cougar fans watching the Cougs shut out a Pac 10 Team was one to remember!

Wouldn't it be awesome if we have some more days like this again this season?

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Family Night with the Bees was awesome fun for me. Of course any time with my kids is awesome! We ate lots of greasy food, slushy drinks, passed babies around and on occasion paid attention to the ball game. Fun time.

Aubrey and Amanda were great at entertaining the babies.
Thanks Erin for organizing this fun evening - Hooray for text message planning!

Britton and Ryan - Such great cousin friends!

Rob loved sugar loading these hyper boys.

Babies love Jared. He is so patient with messy treats.

Ryry loves his daddy.

Cute Sammy with mommy.

Matt enjoyed a Chicago Dog, an all beef jumbo hot dog, half of a chicken burrito, fries and a couple of drinks. Tummy OK, Matt?
High salt content, he drank two bottles of water in 5 minutes.
John wanted a prize for wearing a "Bee Costume."

Fireworks - with music - made for a terrific finish to an evening.
Bees won, bytheway. Score: 6-2.
